Ladri di biciclette (The Bicycle Thief, 1948)

I found The Bicycle Thief to be a compelling and honest portrayal of poverty. Also, I found the acting to be very true. That said I didn’t enjoy it all that much. All neo-realism leaves me with an empty feeling. I’m completely aware that the real world is brutal, but hope is no less real.
